This Place was so Good we Had to Come Back a Second Time!

I stayed at the Acacia House four years ago with friends and had such a wonderful time that I had to do the trip again and bring my husband to see it. Our guide was Salaash, who I would highly recommend. We requested him when we came back the second time. He is very knowledgable and just a plain fun person to spend the day with. We were there in July 2014 and they had just purchased a new vehicle with open air windows. There were six of us in the party and everyone had a good seat and ability to easily take pictures. Just like my first visit, we saw just about every animal we could have. The accommodations are really unbelievably exquisite for the African bush. We loved being ale to sit on the veranda and watch the animals at the water hole. Evelyn, the cook, produced delicious meals that would rival what you get at the best restaurants. And the Maasai young men who served us in the house couldn't have been nicer. Their bright smiles and helpful hands were always there when we needed them. They were a welcome sight after a day of bouncing around in the vehicle sighting/watching the animals. The emphasis they place on conservation is also a plus. I would recommend Asillia Africa to anyone who wants an authentic, but comfortable African safari experience."

Exactly What We Needed

Our travel agent recommended that we stop half way through our African Safari for several days to relax, unwind and enjoy Africa. What a brilliant suggestion! And this is an ideal place to do it at. 5 star service - 4 staff looking after our family - amazing cooking - I even asked for recipes - the decor /architecture of this 3 bedroom home is stunning and so well suited to the environment. A watering hole outside the door with 2 outdoor dining places, grass for the kids to run around on, a swimming pool and BBQ area, and close to lots of wildlife to visit. The drive to the top of the hill where the house is situated is an adventure in itself (and may be a weakness if it wasn't such a thrill). After so many days on dusty, bumpy roads, 4 nights here was just what we needed. There was plenty to do, but we didn't feel bad just relaxing and watching the animals at the watering hole as we updated our Facebook pages and edited our photo's using the free internet provided. We certainly intend to come back here again with even more of our family."

A great family experience!

We stayed at Mara Bush House for 3 night with our 3 year old girl and our friends with 2 small children. We were a bit anxious to take our daughter to East Africa on a safari but we had the most amazing time. The house was stunning with a waterhole in front of the house and a nice big pool.
The Maasai staff were just so friendly and professional and the food was all very delicious. The staff played with the kids all the time and even taught them how to use a bow and arrow.
Our guide Fred was just the best. He taught the children so many things while driving around and seeing all the animals. And distracted them when they got tired or over enthusiastic when they had to sit calm. It was just perfect! A great family experience!"

Love Topi House!

We had a great six night stay at Asilia's Topi House (third time for us) this February 2014.. The staff is superb. Many thanks to the world's greatest guide Salaash and the staff - Nabaala, Leonard and James for a perfect visit. Food, service and guiding were great and the house is wonderful. You are right out in the wilderness with game nearby. You have the whole house to yourself and whomever you have traveled with and your own driver/guide as well. We came back the third time and are booked for a fourth next year!"

Topi House - Well Worth a Visit!

We have just come back from another stay at Topi House and we were very impressed again. The whole team at Topi House made us feel very special and were extremely helpful and friendly. The accommodation is first rate and the food exceptional. Our guide Fred was very knowledgeable and we saw a vast amount of wildlife including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants and many more. One of favourites was the banded mongoose, which we had never got close to before. Even saw migrating pelicans. If you want something special then go to Topi House!"

Amazing family adventure

We are an adoptive family with 3 children from Kenya & Ethiopia. This was the highlight of our 3 week adventure. We had the pleasure to spend time at a village where our daughters played and sang with the local children. Oh, and the pool was an additional blessing. We were spoiled; 3 course meals, chai, homemade sweets, evening fires, warm water bottles in your beds. The Mara Bush Houses are our new favorite place on earth!"

Top Class Stay and Experience!

What can one say! We stayed at both Mara and Acacia houses for 3 nights and had a great time at both. Perfect for family stays. They are private and you have lots of space, large bathrooms and well designed open plan living areas as well as a large green lawns where children can run and play. The swimming pool is great for parents and children alike and is solar heated. Meal times was bliss and well presented great tasting food was served outside on the large veranda, inside or at the pool! Food is of amazing quality and top class with friendly staff attending ones every need.

The wildlife experience and scenery is world class!! We saw mating leopards, a pride of 12 lions and cheetah during our stay, not too mention all the other species there in abundance. The viewing is easy on the wide open plains. Elephants in huge numbers, herds of between 30-50 strong! Guides and vehicles are great and they pack really good picnic meals to have during a game drive. Traveling in January is one of the best times to be in the Mara, as the rains are coming to an end, and you have this magical place almost all to yourself as the holiday and migration crowds are not there anymore. The view from the highest point in the Mara during sunset is stunning.

I am a wildlife photographer, and this place will keep you busy and keep the shutter going as there are excellent opportunities for great quality shots around every corner, be it a leopard, lions elephant, giraffes or the landscape beauty, its all on your doorstep! They have a natural spring feeding a waterhole in front of both houses, and there are wildlife and birdlife visiting throughout the day, you can view and photograph wildlife from your veranda!

For sure THE place to stay for families, groups or couples that need privacy, great service, great accommodation and location, fantastic food, and top class wildlife viewing with great guiding!
Excellent stay and highly recommended! Thank you to everyone for the attention and care, it was awesome. We will be back! "

Best Place to Stay In Masai Mara!

Topi House is a wonderful place to stay. The best view you could imagine on a safari holiday from the front porch - and lunch is served in the gardens overviewing the plains of the Mara and the escarpment, under the shade of an acacia tree. Could not ask for anywhere more "Out of Africa"!

Very friendly staff. Expert guides, some of the most professional and knowledgable around. And Topi House is located in one of the best areas of the Mara - wonderful scenery and big cats right on your doorstep, and it's far away from the big tented camps so there are fewer cars around giving you a more exclusive and natural experience around the animals. Could never imagine staying anywhere else in the Masai Mara!"
